The West University of Timi?oara is the main higher education institution and research pole in Western Romania. Classified as a research and education university by the Ministry of Education, it is one of the five members of the Universitaria Consortium (the group of elite Romanian universities). In the 2016 QS World University Rankings, West University was included in the Top 700 universities of the world, together with only three other Romanian universities.
